The final stage of fieldwork is underway. I’ve begun conducting interviews and analyzing Facebook posts.

My Ph.D. Dissertation addresses death and grieving in the South and how social media has been integrated into Southern practices following a death. The South has a wealth of diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and religions which contribute to its rich heritage and distinct contemporary culture. I want to include a wide variety of perspectives from people who are from the South, currently live in the South, or lived in the South in the past.
